Community Care & Outreach
At Matua Community Incorporated, our support for our elders extends far beyond our weekly gatherings. Our Community Care & Outreach Program is a benevolent initiative dedicated to providing direct relief and compassionate support to mātua experiencing periods of sickness, hardship, or isolation.
This vital program is powered entirely by the heart and dedication of our community volunteers. Our team generously gives their time and energy to ensure that no mātua is forgotten, especially during their most vulnerable moments. This grassroots effort is a true reflection of the "village" coming together to look after its own.
We understand that life can bring unexpected challenges. When our mātua are unwell in the hospital or facing difficult family circumstances, our outreach team steps in to ensure they are not walking that path alone. Through our visitation program, we provide:
Compassionate Care Packages: We deliver essential items and traditional comforts to mātua who are recovering from illness or facing personal distress, helping to alleviate the immediate burdens of their situation.
Hospital & Home Visitations: We offer a familiar face and cultural connection to those who are confined to hospital or home, ensuring their spirit remains strong while they focus on recovery.
By restoring connection and dignity during life’s most vulnerable moments, we ensure that every mātua in our community feels loved, heard, and valued.
